Happy [early] Mother's Day!

Mother's Day is coming up this Sunday, and I think I'm going to make my mom a photo album filled with family pictures and hand-written notes. Is there a better gift? I think not.

This is my mom, a very awesome lady. I was lucky enough to be able to spend time with her last week when she came to visit.

BarCampAustin3

I had a great time photographing and attending BarCampAustin3 at GSD&M idea city this weekend. Food, people, presentations, Karaoke Apocalypse, a unicorn (!) -- it was exhausting but so much fun.

Sickest Stories show at the Hideout

Photographed the Sickest Stories show at the Hideout Theatre in downtown Austin last night. It's a hilarious show — five people play poker, drink, and tell raunchy stories in front of an audience for just under an hour and a half.

Blackstar Co-op

Last weekend, I photographed a beer social put on by Black Star Co-op.The world’s first cooperatively run brewpub was born in the backyard of MonkeyWrench Books. Their previous June beer social provided beer and conversation to over 220 people. July's was even bigger.

This photo shows Steve Randall and Niel Slaughter, co-op members, distributing beer at the Blackstar Co-op beer social Saturday, July 21st.

A Symphony of Amber

Cutting the cake

From a wedding over the weekend at Mayfield Park in Austin. If you've never been to this public park and you're in Austin, you've gotta check it out some time. Besides having a ton of perfect photo-op spots (ponds, gardens, a well, and more), there are peacocks everywhere that just run around freely.

Gorgeous wedding in Webberville

Veronica and I photographed a really beautiful wedding this weekend in Webberville, which is east of Austin. The reception was at Mercury Hall, a cozy and charming historic building in Austin with hardwood floors, stained glass windows, and chandeliers. If you've seen Waking Life, you may know the place -- Mercury Hall was in the movie.
